What whitening/lightening product works for me?

by Ashley
(FL, USA)

Hi Maria, I am 32 years old Filipina with brown complexion. Before I gave birth to my daughter about 6 months ago, I loved my color and had so many complements on it because of how even it was. Now, I have uneven skin tone. My armpits are darker than before so with my inner thighs, butt, neck, stomach and some brown spots on my face. I have read so many great reviews but I just want to get more feedback directly from you. Here are my questions:

1. Should I just use cream or do I have to use the soap, the lotion and the cream to whiten my problem areas?
2. Which whitening products should I use?
3. I am concern about my face peeling because of the nature of my job. I don't want to be going to work with a peeling and flaky face, what do you recommend?
4. The areola and nipples of my breast did get darker after I gave birth as well. Are your products safe if I use it on this areas?

Thank you so much in advance and looking forward of hearing back from you.

Regards,
Ashley

Answer:

Hi Ashley, pregnancy can cause hyperpigmentation - melasma, dark inner thighs, underarms, and other skin folds. These usually fade after a few months after giving birth, but some do stay dark and may need lightening treatments.

Let me answer your questions -

1. Try the kit - skin whitening soap, lotion and cream. Use the soap as your daily facial and body wash, the cream for the face and neck, and lotion all over the dark spots on the body.

2. Under "Skin Whitening Kits" at the Diana Stalder Skin Whitening Product page, I'd recommend the "Treatment for Melasma Kit".

3. Skin lightening will involve skin peeling, which is not really drastic as a chemical or glycolic peel. Shedding or drying skin can simply be taken care of by a light moisturizer that you can carry in your purse anytime.

4. These are thinner skin and using skin lighteners might irritate them. Don't worry, the pigmentation will fade away later.

Hope that helps. :)
