Very stubborn dark marks

I've had severe acne for quite a few years now (4-5 yrs). It recently started to settle down and I still get 1 or 2 big pimples here and there but it's not that serious. However, the dark marks from previous pimples, make me look like as if I have severe acne even though I dont. Some of these marks have been around for 1-2 years, I literally look like a dalmatian, what can you recommend so that I can get read of these marks. Thanks in advance.
