Tips for optimising skin lightening regime for non-responsive areas

by Gazelle
(Australia)

Dear Maria,

This is my third post in the last week. My last one was about "Receiving no answer to my queries". However, I have a burning question and I am really really hoping that this email will reach you. I have no idea why there is was no response to the previous emails as I know you are super efficient with responding and genuinely care about everyone's issues :)

My basic problem at this stage is that some areas of my body (thighs, stomach, and back) don't seem to be lightening to the same level as the other ares, even though I have been doing this for months (using ***edited*** products). I did notice that in some areas of my back, the skin started to peel and then stopped, leaving the peeled area very light and the surrounding area my original tone...which is not a good look lol.

Anyway, can you please give me ideas on what the issues might be and how to over come them.

Thanks
Gazelle

Answer:

Hi Gazelle, I have replied to all your questions on different posts. Our suggestion is after your very first posted question (you were provided the link upon our initial notification), you can submit follow up questions on the "Comments" link below that page, so I can monitor your history and easily suggest solutions and related answers during your skin whitening process.

Unless you submit an email address after you submitted your question, you will not be provided a link to your question/answer after we posted a reply. This is why you've been wondering why your questions have gone unanswered, and you have to scroll through all the FAQ posts, which is very difficult considering the quantity there is, to find your latest post.

So let's start here. After you receive a notification that your question has been posted (this means we have replied to your query), bookmark it (it is your exclusive page provided by us), check the bottom page to see the "Comments" link and submit ALL your follow up questions thereafter.

Now to answer your question today, though we try not to provide answers about other brands because we cannot guarantee nor discredit their efficiency, we just give basic ideas to help you.

For your stubborn dark areas, why don't you use your whitening soap, leave it on skin a bit longer, then using a bath sponge, gently exfoliate any dead skin cells that may be hindering the effects of your favorite whitening product. Do this one time, and another after a week if there is no improvement. Apply the whitening lotion or cream at bedtime (best when skin's damp after night shower or after your exfoliation mentioned earlier), because skin will be at rest, less mobile, and more receptive to skin care products. Increase the application to 2x a day to hasten the results.

Hope that helps.

Maria

Injured my knees
by: Gazelle

Dear Maria,

I slipped today and had a bad fall on concrete. My knees got badly scratched. As I am on the lightening regime, the skin was very badly hurt as the skin was freshly exfoliated. I immediately applied vitamin e oil on the injured skin. Can you please give me advice on the following:
- how to minimise scarring
- how to maximise healing and
- when and how to continue lightening regime on this area.

Thanks
Gazelle

Answer:

Hi Gazelle, you have Vitamin E oil as a very good remedy to avoid/minimize scarring. So stick to that. It will induce faster healing as well.

Let the knee area heal and do not use any skin lightening product. Once a dark spot appears after it has healed, dried or become brown (not red or pinkish), that is the only time you can apply the whitening cream. Do it once a day at bedtime because it is just a fresh dark scar.

Hope it gets well soon.

Tips for optimising skin lightening regime for non-responsive areas
by: Anonymous

Dear Maria,

Thank you so much for your response and explanation on what happened to my previous posts.

Thanks for your tip about exfoliation. I will definitely try it today.

As for applying it 2x daily to hasten the results, I am already doing that unfortunately :) Should I increase it to 3x daily and also does massaging it really really really well and then leaving it to dry for 30 mins before putting on clothing help?

In your experience, is it a common thing to have some skin lighten and the surround areas remain as they were originally?

The best way I can describe it is that the skin starts to exfoliate but then it stops, leaving surrounding areas darker. In my case, the lighter areas exfoliated a few months ago and the remaining areas refuse to lighten frustratingly enough.

Also, I have found the back areas to be quite challenging to lighten due to the following 2 reasons:
1. Its difficult to apply and massage the back area as its hard to reach.
2. Everyday and nightime clothing covers the back area, so it probably absorbs some of the product, whereas chest, arms remain exposed and not covered with clothing such as singlet and scooped necklines. And also you can easily reapply the product to chest and arms to speed up the process, whereas you can't with the back area. I hope this makes sense. So any ideas on how to overcome these challenges would be appreciated.

Thanks again :)

Kind Regards
Gazelle

Answer:

Hi Gazelle, nice to see your follow up question here where it belongs.

Your results are unique to yourself. It is always possible to manifest a different improvement based on how your skin will react to a certain product. If you have followed my suggestion, maybe it should take more consistency to achieve your goal.

For the back area, it means a little bit more patience. It is quite difficult to reach it to apply lotion or cream. Some back applicators are sold online, if you want to google it for more info. This way, you can massage the area better until dry, then rest the skin for at least 15 minutes before lying down to allow the ingredients to settle on your skin.
