TCA Peel
by Rosa
(NY, USA)
I am an African American and approximately 10 years ago, I had a TCA (trichloro aectic acid) face peel only to find that it causes darkening of the skin on people of color. Since that time I've had a dark discoloration on my face to my neck where the chemical was applied. Can this product reverse the effect of the TCA peel?
Answer:
Hi Rosa, there are no guarantees in a skin whitening product. Results will depend on your skin sensitivity. But if you'll ask me if it is possible...
Yes, it can be done.
The problem with chemical or glycolic peels, or even the milder skin peeling process in a skin whitening regimen, is when peeling skin, which is very sun sensitive, gets exposed to the sun. Even with the highest SPF sunscreen, it cannot totally protect skin from darkening very fresh skin that is resurfacing.
If one loves the outdoors, or cannot help spending major activities under the sun (even in the outdoor shade), any skin regimen that involves skin peeling is not for them. After skin has achieved its desired results and rested from the peeling, you can resume minimal sun exposure with sunscreen protection.
Hope that little input gives you or our valued visitors a better idea.
As a suggestion, try the Diana Stalder Glutathione Soap and Whitening Cream.
The Glutathione Soap is the strongest whitening soap in our line. If your skin is sensitive, feel free to replace it with the Black Soap instead.
Hope that helps.
