Suffering from Melasma

Hello, I'm a south-Asian male in my early 30's was suffering from severe Melasma (I know its very rare) since last 5-6 years. It has to be Melasma - you know those ugly dark brown spots equally on both side you face.
At first I did not even know what was happening to my face ,but after few months of research online and visits to doc's office I came to know about it.I did everything possible I could to control it.
I've used many expensive skin lightening creams even gone for lazer treatments, but it still came back:(. Right now it is not that bad, but it not good either. It makes me feel so bad because i think people are staring at me or something and I'm losing my confidence. I want my old face/skin back. Do you think it is possible? Will I ever have my clean fair face back?
p.s. I always take care of my skin , never step out without sunscreen on and still it's not helping.
Answer:
Hi AJ, I can feel your disappointment after all these years of coping with pigments on skin, especially on the face. Although more prevalent in women, 10% of men do get affected by melasma.
Let me tell you something more about the treatment for melasma and its causes. Hopefully, you find something that can fit your skin type.
You may also want to check out your sunscreen if it's broad spectrum that blocks both UVA and UVB rays, at least SPF 30, and contains either zinc or titanium oxide. They're not all the same.
Hope that gives you a better idea.
