Skin Whitening on a scar

Hey there, I only need this for one area of my body. I cut my leg aroung 8 months ago and have got a cicular scar on my skin. It is intended but that does not worry be as much, it is more the colure, it has goena sort of brown shade and is very hard to cover as I need to make it lighter before I attempt to cover it or it will just go even darker than it is!! Will this product help even thought the discoloration was caused my injury??
