Hyperpigmentation from tinea versicolor
by Cassie
(TN, USA)
I am a light skinned (pale) black female. I was diagnosed with a skin disease call tinea versicolor that causes white or darks spots on my body. I have dark spots on my stomach, sides, inner thigh and legs, and also on my lower back. I have tried all types of skin lightening products that seem to only make my skin irritated. I am desperate!!! I've been to several dermatologists and each one said some different and gave different medications. Can you please recommend some for my skin.. I also have very dry skin! I can send you pictures if that would help.. My inner thighs are more darker than the rest of my body. Also was wondering what's a good eye cream for puffy dark circles?
Answer:
Hi Cassie, please do not take my suggestion as a medical advice. Tinea versicolor is a fungal-caused skin disorder and should be treated with the guidance of a doctor. Prescription or over the counter treatments can treat the disorder, and your natural skin color may take months to get back to its original color, but it always does. That's why I have yet to see a recommendation to use skin lighteners to treat the dark spots or hyperpigmentation caused by tinea versicolor.
Simply ask your doctor if it's safe to use skin lightening products to help erase the uneven dark spots. Then get back to me by clicking the "Comments" link below so we could talk about it further ok?

Dark and Diabetes!!
im a black woman with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes. i started on novolog and regular insulin about 3 month ago. since then, i've noticed that my skin, especially my face has gotten much darker. i've tried otc lightening products, AHA, mama lotion, even retin A. nothing has worked. im so frustrated and stressed out. Stress is very bad for anyone, especially diabetics. please help!!!! What do celebrities do to get so light?
Answer:
Hello, diabetes does not have room for skin peeling which is part of the skin lightening process. Healing can be a problem. We don't recommend skin whitening products for diabetic patients. I'm sorry.

Shingle Scars
by Vera
(SC, USA)
Can the skin whitening product be used to remove the scars on my arms from shingles. If so, which products should I use. Thanks, Vera.
Answer:
Hi Vera, skin whiteners can fade dark skin spots whether they're caused by trauma (scratch, slight burn, sun tan) or hormones (acne, freckles, age spots, melasma).
The latter is more difficult to lighten and will need more time to show an improvement because it is beyond the epidermis or top layer of our skin, which includes dark shingles-caused scars.
Shingles is viral in nature. Skin lightening can only show an improvement topically or cosmetically, but cannot treat the underlying pigmentation. Depending on the depth of the scar, the lightening effect will only target the topmost skin layer.
Try the whitening cream and see how it works for you. Just make sure the skin is fully healed without any sign of redness or soreness.

Eczema and skin whitening
by Vera
(OK, USA)
i have eczema sometimes and i am wondering if taking glutathione pills will be okay for me to use for skin whitening and will it give me an even tone while lightening my back and face acne scars?i also have some scars on my leg that have been there for about 15years.will the whitening pills make the scars go or will it just lighten my skin and leave the black scars?my skin tone is very uneven from head to toe and i just want an even, lighter and smooth complexion.thanks.
Answer:
Hi Vera, low levels of glutathione have been documented in many types of skin diseases including eczema. Taking glutathione pills may work for you to help relieve eczema, at the same time even out your overall body skin color.
Results from taking this supplement will depend on how your body metabolism works with your glutathione intake. You may see a fast or slow improvement while the glutathione and antioxidants build up in your system.
Dark skin scars can also lighten in the process, depending on the depth or length it has been there. Glutathione cannot totally remove scars, but may improve its texture.
Be patient in taking the supplement. It has no record of any ill side effects but all good benefits for skin and body health.

Eczema and skin lightening
by JC
(CA)
I have a skin condition called "Eczema." I think it's somehow connected to Allergies and Stress. Everytime I'm stressed, I get bumps on my skin and it gets so itchy. My doctor has prescribed Elidel for me to use as needed. Anyway, I would like to know if your products will work with my skin condition. I would really love to use your products but want to inquire about it first before I make the investment. Thank you for your time!
Answer:
Hi JC, eczema-prone skin should remain moisturized or hydrated to prevent skin cracks and help itchiness stay under control.
Skin lightening involves a peeling process, which undergoes drying the skin prior to resurfacing a new lighter skin layer.
Bottomline is, a skin lightening regimen can irritate your condition, and they're not a good match.
Soon as you get over this disorder and your physician says it's ok to treat the hyperpigmentation left by eczema with skin lighteners, that's the only time you can give it a try.

hyperpigmentation and acne psoraisis
by rose
(hre-zim)
hi maria, wanted to knw if usin extra claire skin lightning cream is effective for removing my pigmentation marks and psoraisis despite the fact that it contains hydroquinone...thanks.
Answer:
Hi Rose, it is safe to use skin lightening products for dark acne scars, as long as these are already dry, healed and dark (not reddish or sore) in color.
But please stay away from hydroquinone-based products. Check our site for the harmful effects of hydroquinone on skin. There are safer skin whitening creams for this purpose for a healthier result.

i have irritant eczema or atopic if you say,
by Mary
(UK)
like i said i have irritant eczema, i haven't been using soap and cream for a while, im using what my doctor is told me to use just to get rid of it, but i see myself going rather too dark on my face and body i don't fell good bout it. mre so i'm looking for a good product that can make me get light and not giving me strech marks and more facial hairs can you help? i need an honest truth, not just making me buy your product. i have used makari product, which i the 1st place that gave me this stupid eczema or skin reaction i don't know, i have since stoped using it, and it came back again pls be honest about your answer. thanks
Answer:
Hi Mary, one thing you're guaranteed here is getting an honest answer, regardless if we make a sale or not. Our priority is to help people find a solution, even if it means endorsing other products.
I cannot guarantee that our skin whiteners can help your skin condition, because Makari, which is also a good brand, is a skin lightening product. If you developed negative reactions to a skin whitening agent or ingredient, it is not remote that it will not happen again. On the other hand, it may also alleviate the dark pigmentations too. The only way to know is to try another product - but you only do this if your skin has healed of any redness, soreness, or any sort of irritation. Otherwise, the skin whitening ingredients, which contain strong exfoliating agents that causes skin to gradually peel off the unwanted dark skin layer, can make things worse.
It would be another test on your part. Either it would work or not. Skin lighteners are generally formulated under normal skin conditions. If you wish to try a jar of whitening cream, apply it on one area to test if it would cause a negative reaction.
Skin whitening products does not cause eczema because this is a genetic disorder, but some chemicals in skin care products can trigger it. That's what happened to you. Let your skin heal first before indulging into any other skin regimen.
Take care, Maria

Vitiligo
by Matt
(Denville)
I have vitiligo on my face and hands and am of italian american descent. Can a skin lightening agent help me in making a more uniform look to my skin? and is it permanent?
Answer:
Hi Matt, skin lightening products cannot give permanent results. Like any other skin or hair care regimen, there is a need for maintenance to keep the results lasting.
The only treatment for vitiligo is a Monobenzone or Benoquin prescription from your doctor or dermatologist. It will even out the white color on your skin and is permament. These two medications should not be used under normal skin conditions, only on vitiligo cases because it is a disorder in order to remove the brown patches of skin.
Hope that helps, Matt.

PIH severe
by Jessica
(Colorado)
I've had PIH for over a year now and it's very dark and hasn't gone away. I've used a skin lightener product with hydroquinone and nothing! I am tired of spending money on products that don't work. I'm tired of seeing my face covered in dark spots that can't be covered completely with makeup. I'm not sure to really trust any place again but people are saying that this stuff works. I don't want to have to use a product for months and months without seeing any improvements. What of your products would you recommend? I was looking and i thought that the soap and skin whitening product looked the best to get but I wasn't sure. I'm very iffy about trying another place and spending more money but I am tired of seeing my face everyday. I used to have beautiful skin and now it looks like I've been burned all over my face.
Answer:
Hi Jessica, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or PIH can surely cause stress in social situations, not to mention affect one's self-esteem. Depending on what caused it (hopefully not aggravated by the hydroquinone-based products you have used before), product quality and potency, and your unique type of skin sensitivity - these factors will determine the results that you'll get from a product.
No skin product can assure you that it is a 100% guaranteed to work for your type of skin. What works for one may OR may not work for you. I can't even tell you if you'll see a fast or slow improvement unless you try a product. It is your own type of skin that will tell you what kind of reaction to expect.
That is where we come in. Our skin whiteners are guaranteed of high quality and potency to make it a good bet and give you a better chance to achieve the results that you want.
Diana Stalder Skin Whitening Products offer different kits for different skin types. Use our "Quick Product Guide" (in the blue box table on the same page) to choose the right kit for you.
For ex., if you are below 30, choose the "Lightening Kit". Then, if you have non-sensitive skin, choose either the Glutathione or Papaya Soap as your daily facial wash. Therefore, scroll down the page and under "Skin Whitening Kits", click thru the drop down menu to choose either -
"Glutathione Lightening Kit" ...or... "Papaya Lightening Kit".
Either one may work for you.
Good luck and I hope your search ends here. :-)

Answer:
Hi Ruxana, hyperpigmentation comes with vitiligo. Unfortunately, your skin disorder is beyond skin deep, and skin whitening products work only topically. Even skin whitening pills are not a solution to vitiligo because it's not a drug treatment.
The only way you can even out your skin color is with a prescription treatment from a medical professional.

Vitiligo

If one has decided to no longer try to repigment due to the extent of the spread of Vitiligo, will the cream lighten the naturally pigmented areas? I am already fair complected, but there is still a noticible difference in the depigmented areas and the pigmented areas.

Hello, vitiligo is a skin disorder and this is the time when you need the prescription of a medical professional to even out your skin color.

Rash from hepatitis A in 2008
by Jeanette
(CA, USA)
I am now 2-3 shades darker due to a severe case of hepatitis last year. What can I do to regain my normal skin tone with damage to my liver? I have uneven blotches over my entire body.
Answer:
Hi Jeanette, it would be wise to consult your doctor if it's ok to take glutathione supplements. Though glutathione generally aids the liver in detoxification, an assurance from a medical professional is best especially if you have had a medical condition in the past.
Our glutathione supplements, which are powerful antioxidants, besides benefiting the liver for healthy body and skin, can gradually lighten and even out the skin tone as a side effect.

keratosis pilaris and skin whitening
by Gisele
(NY,NY,USA)
dear maria, i am a black female, with keratosis pilaris, a skin condition that causes ingrowns and problems with normal skin exfoliation where ever the area might be affected. I have the scars of keratosis ALL over my legs and thighs, they look like tiny black dots on my legs and thighs. I have searched high and low for an answer to this dreadful condition do you think any of your products might work to lighten the dots, with out affecting the normal skin too much?
Answer:
Hi Gisele, our skin whitneing products are recommended for use under normal skin conditions. However, for some disorders like keratosis pilaris, it may or may not work. Skin lightening involves skin peeling just like glycolic acid based solutions, where skin dryness may be experienced. Peeling is necessary to peel off the dark skin layers and reveal a lighter skin tone. You can try any of our whitening creams or lotions and see how it works for you. But never use this product on red or sore areas. Make sure they are dry and healed to avoid irritations.
Other thing, since this may induce skin dryness, use the skin whitening cream or lotion with a therapeutic moisturizer formulated for keratosis pilaris. You can apply the whitening product first, then after 10-15 minutes, apply your moisturizer.
Remember, skin whiteners are not your last solution, but for some, it has worked. It also does not guarantee that the hyperpigmentation will not come back because of the disorder. Depending on your skin sensitivity, it may either be a fast or slow improvement.
Hope this helps. I wish you well. :-)
