Skin turned darker

by Nikki
(Las Vegas)

I applied the whitening lotion to certain areas of my body and my skin turned darker! Why did that happen and is just my skin or what? The areas were my underarms and inner thigh area. Is it okay to use vaseline as your moisturizer? please let me know.

Answer:

Hi Nikki, dark inner thighs and underarms are thin and sensitive areas which undergo friction against surrounding skin and clothing daily. Friction causes skin to get dark.. or darker. Even when you use skin lightening creams.

Here's why -

"Dark underarms and inner thighs are a little difficult to treat because these are constantly exposed to friction - rubbing against surrounding skin and clothing we wear daily. When skin starts to peel, it is actually more prone to skin darkening when again exposed to friction."

"In addition to the whitening cream, the use of a whitening soap can help hasten the results. But use with care, because we do not want to over-exfoliate thin and sensitive skin."

"Try to wear loose clothing during the process, and apply whitening cream at bedtime when skin is at rest. "

Hope that gives you a better idea.

Maria
