Should use whitening product while being pregnant?.

by Eager
(CA, USA)

Im 8 months pregnant and i ordered the whitening product with kojic and retinol with the soap and stuff should i use it right now or wait?.And also can i use the product while breast feeding?.I will highly appreciate your response.

Answer:

Hi Eager, do NOT use any acid- or retinol-based skin products while pregnant or breastfeeding. While it is possible that you'll achieve the skin whitening effects, these products will penetrate skin and might affect your baby and/or lactating functions.

Hyperpigmentation or darkening of some body parts is normal during pregnancy. Most of these will fade away. After giving birth and breastfeeding, you'll better see which dark spots remain and treat them accordingly.

Congratulations on your forthcoming baby very soon! :-)
