Problem with dark butt and acne scars :(

by miriam
(philippines)

hi! i'm emjey.. i have a fair skin but have dark butt.. and now i'm 24 weeks pregnant, i'm having problems with acne now.. please help me.. what shall i do?

Answer:

Hi Emjey, skin lightening products are not suggested when you're pregnant or nursing. Skin whitening has not been fully tested if safe, or unsafe, like other acid-based skin products such as retinol, because these penetrate skin.

Hyperpigmentation is normal during pregnancy - dark inner thighs, butt, underarms, face, etc. Don't worry, most of these dark spots on skin fade away after you give birth. Some do stay, and that's the right time to try skin whitening products. :)
