Peels and Your Skin Whitening Products

by Kaydiene
(FL,USA)

Dear Maria, I would like to thank you for providing a website that gives such insight and information on topics that I normally couldn't ask anywhere else. I have a couple of questions.

1. I am 18 years old and am on a 30 mg dose of birth control. I have been on it for a year and I have not experienced any of the melasma symptoms or darkening of any genital areas. My question is, if I order the whitening pills with the entire set(soaps, creams, lotion) would my birth control interfere with the whitening process?

2. My second question is this, on my legs the pores have darkened due to my shaving with a dirty razor when I was about 10, they somewhat resemble little dots or freckles, but it is actually the result of abrasion and hyperpigmentation.

3. I was wondering if this system, the whitening pills, the bleaching creams lotions and soaps was effective enough with out the aid of other products?

I also read that bleaching is an exfoliation process, I own a 50% TCA acid peel, is it ok to use this peel with your products on certain areas, will these products enhance the effect of the peel?

4. I am sorry for being long winded with my questions but I would also like to know which products on your website are mercury free, hydroquinone free, and steriod free?

5. My last question is when I begin the bleaching or whitening process what is the minimum strength of sunscreen i should use to protect the fragile skin?

Sincerely,

A Future Dermatologist

Answer:

Hi Kaydiene, thank you for your kind compliment about our site. Let's get down to answering your your questions -

1. Birth control pills will not interfere with the skin lightening regimen - whether these are topical (whitening soaps, lotions, cream) or supplemental (whitening pills).

2. The lightening cream or lotion can help get rid of the hyperpigmentation on your legs.

3. If you choose a certain brand for skin whitening, it is better not to mix it with other products to avoid different formulations interacting with each other. Our skin whiteners are exfoliators/peelers too but in a milder effect, so there's no need for any other exfoliators or enhancers like the TCA peel. It might irritate your skin.

4. All products sold on this site do not have hydroquinone, mercury or steroid.

5. The higher the SPF in a sunscreen is used, the better. I use SPF 70. At least SPF 45 is good enough.

Hope that addresses all your concerns. Good luck on your future endeavor. :-)

Maria
