Only one concern after reading reviews...

by Nicole

Hello Maria, I ordered my skin whitening product last week and I believe I will be receiving my G/L kit in a couple of days. After reading many reviews, questions, and concerns I have developed my own.

I have noticed that when some people experience skin peeling, the skin that is revealed underneath is actually darker than it was before they even started the skin lightening process.

This is a major concern for me because obviously this would defeat the purpose of skin lightning if you end up darker in the process. I was hoping that you could better explain this phenomena to me so that I may prevent the occurrence of a more uneven skin tone than I already have.

Thank you!

Nicole

Answer:

Hi Nicole, what you described to me may be the result of negligence when using skin whitening products.

You see, proper use is one other part of the equation for success in skin lightening (the other one being attributed to the quality of a skin whitener used).

Darkening of peeled skin may be caused by 2 factors -

1. Fresh skin that comes out from peeling during the lightening process, is sun sensitive which when exposed to the sun unprotected, can become darker than before.

2. Or, fresh skin can also become darker if skin over-peels. Too much exfoliation can dry up skin and make it look ashy in color.

Here's what you should remember -

1. use the products once daily;
2. when skin starts to peel, reduce usage to 2-3x a week, until you reach the desired results;
3. maintenance is 1x a week only.
4. use of sunscreen is a daily MUST and moisturizers are optional according to your skin type.

If others did it, you can do it too. :)

Maria
