Line from belly button and down

hey, i was just wondering if this product only works on areas which have changed colour or if it can also work on areas that started out that colour. I ask this because i have a darker line going from my belly button and down and it tends to look like the line of hair men have there. I've always had this line and i know its darkened skin not a line of hair. Would this product help lighten this area? thank you for your time! :)
