Lightening redness

by Shirley
(NC)

Dear Maria, do skin lightening products help with lightening redness from sun damage? My chest area is always red from a very bad sun burn years ago. I would like to lighten the redness up as much as possible.

I am relatively fair skinned, so the redness on my chest looks like I always have a sun burn.
If skin lighteners work on red areas from sun damage, which products do you recommend for the most effective lightening?

Thank you

Answer:

Hi Shirley, skin lightening products cannot help skin redness, only darkened pigmentations.

Redness is a sign of irritation. Sunburn heals to a tan, can fade away or be treated with skin lighteners, but if it stays red until now, I guess it is best to have it checked by a doctor, especially if there is accompanying pain or swelling.

Hoping you find the right solution. Good luck. :)

Maria
