L-Glutathione and Eating Hours/ Fasting
by Gitta
Dear Ms.Maria, I am aware that on your blog you once stated that L-Glutathione and Vitamin C must be taken 1 hour before eating or 2 hours after. I would like to know if taking L-Glutathione outside of this time frame would be detrimental to it's absorption/potency.
I am not exactly taking these supplements to lighten. I have a skin condition called tinea versicolor. It is not a life threatening or immune disease like vitiligo but it has similar symptoms and is often misdiagnosed as vitiligo. I have finally found what works in mitigating the symptoms and eventually eliminating them. It began by affecting only a small patch on my stomach to affecting nearly my entire back, chest, parts of my stomach and neck, and continuing to spread gradually to my face, hands, feet and other body parts. With this condition, skin can lighten in patches as well as darken. Even when the cause of the symptoms is eliminated the discoloration can last for a long time.
I am hoping to even out my skin internally using these supplements but for my treatment it is necessary for me to fast at times. I must also admit,I can lose track of time when I am busy and realise it is too late to take the supplements OR even eat!
I have been putting off fasting for around 2 months in order to take the pills effectively but some of my affliction seems to be returning bit by bit. I do not want to use any topical creams as when I first became affected by this condition around age 12 (I turned 19 recently)the "doctor", instead of treating the cause or even doing cultures to find out more, prescribed me Clobetasol, which I now know is a VERY high strength steroid. It left parts of my skin thinned, stretch-marked, marred, and unwantedly lightened. Whats worse it did not even affect the tinea versicolor!
It seems that I am at a crux in this situation. I know what can help cure my skin, and I know what can help even it. But I am unsure if they can be done at the same time. Does taking these supplements on an empty stomach render them useless? Do you think it would be better just to put off using them until i can certainly follow the guidelines?
I may seem to be behaving hastily but it is a condition that has brought me much insecurity and depression as parts of my skin were literally COVERED with lighter and darker scales through nearly my entire adolescence. I just want finally to not worry that people are thinking I look like a leopard. Much of the tinea has disappeared due to the treatment although I can expect to have to watch the types of food I eat fastidiously for the rest of my life, but having the smooth even skin I once had will really bring me such joy!
Thank you in advance for your reply. I am so sorry my entry is so long-winded, but I felt I really needed to outline my situation and I value your straight forward and honest approach to this blog.
Sincerely,
Gitta
Answer:
Hi Gitta, thank you for sharing your story with us. I'm sure you are not alone by showing how a young adult's life can be adversely affected by hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone. But I applaud you because at the same time, it demonstrated how brave you are facing this difficulty. :)
Although I am not in a medical position to advise what is best for you, I could only recommend that you try Greenwhite Glutathione Pills which comes with the organic and highly potent Moringa Oleifera which has been proven to induce healing to major diseases in skin and body. As a matter of fact, various international companies are developing this ingredient for cosmetics, food consumption - tea, drinks, water treatment - even biofuel!
Although not fully evaluated and concluded, the Moringa ingredient in Greenwhite capsules might help fight fungal infections too. This is what I'm trying to target here, because tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus.
This may or may not work for you, and it can take a month, or two, or more, before you can see results. I'm not sure it WILL work. But it CAN too. Take it 3x a day for the first month, then 2x a day thereafter.
Don't worry, Greenwhite pills are NOT drugs, they're just vitamin supplements. They won't interact with your prescription drugs, but take Greenwhite at a separate time schedule of the day for best absorption.
If you take it other than the suggested 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, it's ok, as long as you don't take it with a heavy meal because too much food can interfere with the absorption of the supplement's nutrients.
I pray and hope you get better soon. :)
Take care,
Maria
