I used kojic acid soap made from the philippines...

by Lee
(NJ)

I am wanting to know why, when I used kojic acid soap specifically for a melasma spot on the right side of my face, that I am now left with a red blotch in place of where the brown spot was. Will this go away?.. it also seems that this red blotch is off to the side where the brown spot is located.

Answer:

Hi Lee, the red blotch is caused by peeling. You see, the papaya kojic soap is a bit strong skin whitening soap. When used on face with sensitive skin, it tends to peel more, so use not too often. Once the skin peels, reduce usage of the product within your comfort level only. Do not expose yourself to the sun when skin is peeling because it can make sun sensitive skin darker than before. Wear sunscreen if you need to go outdoors.

help pls
by: Anonymous

hi. ive been using kojic acid soap for 3 days now. and i developed redness around my chest and stomach. but its not itchy or something. is this normal?

Answer:

Hello, redness can still be normal, however it seems you;re uncomfortable and might get worse. Redness is a sign of exfoliating/peeling skin to come. Reduce usage, especially for the chest area which is sensitive and thin, maybe to 2-3x a week only. Remember, use any skin whitener within your comfort level only.

hi
by: Anonymous

i tried to used kojic soap before hoping that it will help to get rid of my acne.after a week my skin peeled but my face got worst so is there any tip for my skin cause it is really embarassing to hang out with a pizza face.

Answer:

Hello, the skin whitening soap may have been too strong for your sensitive skin. Discontinue and rest skin for 2-3 weeks, moisturize as necessary. After skin has healed, go for a mild skin lightening soap this time.

Itchy skin
by: Anonymous

i used kojic soap for 1 week already. i really feel itchy. is it ok if i scrub my skin using an ordinary soap then followed by a kojic soap?. i just notice that for 1 week my skin got glossy, is that an indication that my skin glows already?.. please reply, i really want to know if i have to continue using this soap.. thanks

Answer:

Hello, if the itch does not come with skin rashes, that may be part of the normal side effects of dryness and peeling. If with rashes, it's irritation so discontinue use. The product is not for you because it might be too strong for your sensitive skin.

The glossy look comes during and after peeling because of the accompanying dryness. Hydrate skin with your favorite moisturizer.

Remember, skin lightening should not be a discomfort. Use within your comfort level only. If daily use is uncomfortable, reduce usage to 2-3x a week only.

Kojic Glutathione
by: Anonymous

I'm using Kojic glutatthione soap for 2 months and it's very effective but last 3 weeks, my skin and face beginning to produce red rashes. Am i going to stop using this product or switch to kojic papaya?

Amswer:

Hello, simply reduce usage of the glutathione soap. You should be on the maintenance stage already. Meaning, after you reach your desired results, instead of the regular daily use, maintenance is only 1-2x a week.

Otherwise, skin can get too dry and irritated from overuse. So just try not to use the soap everyday and see if that will work better for your maintenance regimen.

Interesting.. I knew it would 'peel' but as of now, the peeling has stopped and the dark spot is still there.

Answer:

Hello, peeling is not an indication that the lightening will stop once it (peeling) fades. The skin whitening ingredients can also work on peeled skin to lighten the dark spots. Continue using the skin whitening products at a reduced frequency (to avoid over-peeling) and wear sunscreen to prevent further skin darkening.

allergic to kojic soap
by: Anonymous

i used kojic soap for 3weeks now my face still peeling off and itchy i found out that i started to develop wrinkles from my forehead and side of my eyes is this an allergic reaction? do i have to continue to use this soap? pls help...

Answer:

Hello, the papaya kojic soap is a strong soap for the face and induces dryness due to skin peeling. Reduce usage of the soap if you're uncomfortable, and moisturize skin daily to alleviate the dryness (wrinkly feel). Use the kojic soap within your comfort level.
