I have very light skin but my face...

by Ashley
(Colorado, U.S.)

I have very light skin but my face is always a pink color (its not a pretty pink) so what can i do to solve this problem?

I am caucasion. My skin is very light and i dont tan easy, which i like, but the problem is that my facial skin is always a redish/pink and i dont no what to do! It looks like i have a very light sun burn all the time even though i dont go into the sun. The weird thing is, i didnt have this problem when i was younger. I started turning pinkish when i was around 11 or 12. Im very confused and would like to solve this problem but i dont know how. so can you please help me.

Answer:

Hi Ashley, our skin lightening products don't treat pinkish skin, but only dark (grayish, brown or black) skin spots.

Your light skin explains why you have very little melanin (the pigment that gives skin its brownish tint) and make skin a pinkish tone. Pink skin is caused by hemoglobin, a pigment in the blood, that are very close to the surface of the skin. During summer, a pinkish skin tone can turn reddish, even without exposing itself to the sun directly.

As long as there is no inflammation, itching, scaling or soreness on your skin, you're fine. Otherwise, if you feel something is wrong inside you, your skin will send out a message. You'll feel it and you'll know it. You know your skin and body best. Go to a doctor if there's something unusual.

Remember, good health habits make healthy skin and body. This includes a healthy diet, exercising, adequate sleep, and not overexposing your skin to the sun.

Take care,
Maria
