How long does it take to achieve skin lightening results for someone of african american descent? I recently purchased the papaya skin whitening set with the whitening lotion and the skin mosturizing lotion.I have been using the products a little over a month and my skin started to darken at first, but i'm gradually seeing some dark spots lightening.

Hi Rochelle, African American skin may differ in tone color, but results will have the same standpoint as any other individual. Each individual's skin sensitivity is the main factor in determining results, in addition to the quality of the skin whitening products you choose to use. Normally, you should see an improvement within 1-4 weeks.
What you're experiencing right now is absolutely normal, darkening or skin seemingly to look 'ashy' at first (because of skin drying due to the peeling process), wherein lightening follows after new fresher lighter skin is being revealed gradually.
Now that you're seeing an improvement, lessen the usage of the products to 2-3x a week, thereafter maintenance, when you finally reach your goal, is only 1x a week to keep the results lasting.
Remember, sunscreen will still be daily in your regimen. :)
