Have developed dark patches on face after laser treatment for wrinkles
by Charito
(bangladesh)
What would i do now? Should I continue my whitening creams? I've been using it before the laser treatment and it had made my skin whiter or lighter but it seems not working this time.
Answer:
Hi Charito, the problem with laser treatment if it didn't work well, scarring and pigmentation can occur, which is most likely what happened to you. True, your skin whitening creams that worked before may not work this time - because now, your dark patches are deeper than the epidermal (topmost) layer as a result of the laser treatment. Skin whiteners work best on the epidermis only.
You might need to check with a dermatologist on how to treat dermal pigmentation.
