Have acne dark spot

by Kwesiann
(Florida)

Hi Maria,I Have acne spots, with the whitening cream should i apply all over my face or just the dark spots? p.s am african american/afro caribbean one more thing i live in florida and its hot most of the time thanks Maria!

Answer:

Hi Kwesiann, the sun is the number 1 factor in skin darkening, especially worsening hyperpigmentation like acne scars. If your dark acne spots are just a couple or few, you can do target spot treatment. However, to avoid uneven application, it is better to apply the whitening cream on the whole area.

The skin lightening process will involve skin peeling of the dark skin layer to even out the skin tone. Wear a high SPF (at least 45) sunscreen (a MUST) when you go outdoors because peeling skin is sun-sensitive.

Hope that helps.

Maria
