Has this happened with you before??
by Lynn
(Texas)
I started using the soap, whitening cream and lotion 2 weeks ago today. My face seems to be lightening even though i cant tell if this is as a result of the whitenizer lotion i was using before (Fair and White). The rest of my body shows very very minimal change. After i apply the soap, wait ten minutes then rinse off, i notice the water running off to be orange and brown. So im guessing orange from the soap and brown from my skin peeling? Im african american, dark.
Sometimes when im applying the body lotion i feel like some gritty stuf on my legs and thighs. Peeling off? When i look at the palms of my hands, i DONT see brown skin... But afterwards, my skin itches, and some areas of my face are extra sensitive when i touch. Im thinking it may be from peeling even though my skin is not flaking.
Im using sunscreen with SPF 50,, moisturizing 15 minutes after applying cream and lotion. I use the papaya kojic soap. My Question is, is it possible to be peeling without really seeing it?? And say if i dont peel, will i still lighten my skin tone?? I have noticed though that my skin has gotten soft, but that wasnt why i bought the pack coz i used Makari before and it made my skin really soft. Help!!

Hi Lynn, facial skin usually responds faster than the rest of the body because it is thinner-skinned. Yes, it is responding to what you're using right now, because after 2 weeks, the ingredients of the previous brand you're using would have faded off already. And yes, peeling skin shows off in the tub when you rinse off, especially in the first stages of skin peeling.
The 'gritty' stuff is also skin peeling/exfoliating. It is actually a good sign that you are responding to the skin whitening products. I experience it too, I notice some shedding light grayish skin coming off as well. After the first major peeling has passed, applying your lotion would be better.
Skin peeling is necessary to remove the unwanted dark skin spots/layer, and allow the active skin whitening ingredients to settle in and do its job to lightening the resurfacing skin layer. It is usually manifested in the shower when skin is wet or damp, or when you apply the lotion because you are rubbing the skin when you apply it.
Yes, some skin types don't peel at all, their skin just lightens up. I would say they're the lucky ones. :)
You are still in your first 2 weeks, so far so good. You're doing a good job. be a little patient because mostly, chocolate-skinned tones take a bit longer to respond.
