fear of side effects and cancer

hi, i have used ***edited*** cream for a while, i just got to hear that it might contain hydroquinone, mecury and steroids, pls am i in any danger.
what other lightening creams can i use? i work sometimes in the sun and i have some darker shades of colour round my face, arm and other exposed part of my body.

Hi Bola, if your work entails sun exposure, it is NOT recommended to use any skin whitening products, because of the peeling process.
When skin is peeling, it becomes sun-sensitive and more prone to sun damage and darkening. Worse, if you're using hydroquinone-based skin lightening creams, the damage is more absorbed by the body, and yes, can cause skin cancer after long term use.
You will be in jeopardy if you're still using that cream until now. But if you discontinued, that's good. Don't worry, you won't get skin cancer within a short period, unless you've been using harmful products in years and get exposed to the sun as well.
