darker areas due to pregnancy

by Mary

hello, i'm a filipina and i'm now 5 months pregnant. Everything is beautiful with what is happening to me except that I noticed that my underarms and thighs and butt are getting darker :( what soap would you recommend for me to use? I also wanted to make sure that it is safe for me to use. Please help. Thanks.

-mary

Answer:

Hi Mary, hyperpigmentation is normal during pregnancy. The bad news is, you cannot use any skin lightening soap or cream to get rid of it because these are acid-based, penetrates skin, and induces skin peeling.

But the good news is, these dark spots usually fade away after giving birth. Some may stay though, and that's the right time to consider skin lightening regimen. :)
