dark upper lip skin
by Rachel
Hi Maria, I'm 22 and ever since I was 16 I noticed that the skin on my upper lip is darker than the rest of my face (I'm medium brown colored). In fact there is a clear demarkation line when you look closely. My family and friends all say it doesnt look that bad, but sometimes when I look in the mirror it does seem quite obvious.
I've not really got that much hair on my lip, but when I do wax it the skin color is still dark. I don't think I have melasma as I've never taken the pill. Do you recommend I try some lightening cream?
Thanks,
Rachel
Answer:
Hi Rachel, when family and friends say something doesn't look so bad, it is true. But we ourselves don't exactly feel the same, because we closely look at the mirror everyday.
Melasma is hormonal and not caused by taking birth control pills alone. So it is also possible in your case.
Yes, why don't you try the Diana Stalder Lightening Cream. Apply daily on the first week, then every other day thereafter. The skin on the upper lip is thinner, and it will become sun sensitive due to the mild peeling process. Wear sunscreen to prevent further darkening.
Avoid waxing during this lightening process. It can irritate skin. When you reach the desired results, maintenance is 1x a week application. :)
