Dark upper lip problem

by Jamie
(AR, USA)

Within the last 6 to 12 months my upper lip has become darker than the rest of my face. I have always had darker hair on my lip and would simply wax it away. But now a simple wax doesnt work. The hair is gone but my lip is still dark! Will this skin whitening cream work? What are the common side effects? Has anyone ever complained of adverse affects or a rash? Please help, I cant even look anybody in the eye anymore because I am afraid I will see them looking at my lip.

Jamie

Answer:

Hi Jamie, the upper lip is a thin and sensitive area. You can try the whitening cream and apply daily for the first week, then 3x a week thereafter. The dark skin layer will peel off to resurface a lighter skin tone.

Wear a high spf sunscreen when outdoors to protect exfoliating/peeling skin from sun damage. Peeling skin is prone to darkening when exposed to the sun, that's why.

Redness, itchiness, stinging or burning sensation are normal during the skin lightening process. If it's becoming a discomfort, simply reduce the frequency of application.

The key to success in skin lightening is proper use. Not overuse or misuse.

Hope that helps. :-)

Maria
