dark underarms and inner thighs

i have a dark underarms and inner thighs for a long time and went to dermatologist and had a session and was given me whitening cream. it did not even work i was just frustrated so i stopped.

and one thing what kind of deodorant i have to use so it will not get dark and smelly and i am taking a bath everyday, i don't know what soap to use to make it smells good.
