dark patches of pigmentation - how do i localize the whitening effects?

by Julie
(New York)

I have small dark patches all over my backside that I am trying to get rid of - I am using the acne kit (black soap, toner, and cream). My question is, is the soap going to bleach my "entire" body or just the dark pigmented patches? My goal is not TOTAL whitening, just the patches. Can you advise the best way to get these specific areas of my body? I'm just concerned all I'll end up doing is lightening my entire body - right now I use the soap all over and use the toner and cream just on the dark spots. Thanks so much Maria!

Answer:

Hi Julie, you're doing it correctly. Soap to wash skin all over, then target treat the dark spots. Normally, the skin lightening products will lighten the area it touches. So even if you apply the toner and whitening cream all over, it will lighten the surrounding skin too. But once the dark spots disappear, your overall skin tone will get back to its original skin color, minus the dark spots. :)
