dark lip line
hi Ms. MAria ! i would like to approach you with my lip problems... i dont wear lipsticks it made my upper lip dark (a common problem)my mother used to put me lipstick when i was young.., i tried lip balm, lip gloss, lip conditioner, lip shimmer instead, for my lips to have it look good and be moisturized because my lips always have cracks, or it peels ...
and cause of that i developed this dark lip line (another problem) on my lips its like i always put on lip liner and it dont look good to me and i dont want to put on lipstick to hide it.
and by now i no longer use any of those im afraid that if i tried again one of those products it will worsen my problem.
so im hoping for any tips and maybe product suggestions too that may protect my lips from dryness or sun screen protection.
big thanks to you!!!

Answer:
Hi Lei, dry lips can cause discoloration, which means dark lip/s. When skin is drying, and the cuts heal, this results to a dark discolored layer. Most of the time, ordinary lip balm or shimmers don't help, or when you always wet your lips with saliva, which tends to dry skin more.
Exfoliate dead dry skin with a small paste of baking soda and water and rub on lips gently. Do this 2-3x a week. But every bedtime, especially after exfoliation, apply Vaseline petroleum jelly and leave on overnight. You can also use the jelly a few times within the day to keep the lips hydrated. If you will go outdoors, wear a lip balm with sunscreen to prevent further discoloration.
Now to treat the pigmentation, we are working on a dark lip lightener but it may not be available too soon. For now, you can use Diana Stalder Lightening Cream and apply 2-3x a week only. Do not forget that moisturization (with Vaseline) is still a daily nightly, and apply 10 minutes after you applied the lightening cream. It may take time, but safer because our lips are thin and sensitive.
Hope that gives you a better idea. :)
