by Margaret
(London)
I am a black African 45 year old woman and l have dark knees. I damaged my knees 12 years when l was in labour with my son because the pain was too much and l wanted to feel the pain somewhere else so l was banging my knees on the floor and now my knees l very dark.
I have tried everything to get rid of my dark knees. I have sensitive skin and l bleaching creams but my knees just go darker what can l do. pls.
And also l will like to lighten my skin am chocolate colour at the moment.
Answer:
Hi Margaret, oh how I sympathize with the pain you went through during that labor, and now there are these dark knees to remind you of that.
Beyond pigmentation, your knees were scarred and discolored underneath. This is the factor that will determine how long you should stay in a skin lightening process, and obviously, this should take a longer time than ordinary dark knees which are normally caused by friction (rubbing against external surfaces, and darkens as we age).
What I usually recommend for chocolate-skin tones is the Glutathione Soap Lightening Kit (under "Skin Whitening Kits") but since you mentioned you have sensitive skin, you might as well try the Black Soap Lightening Kit which is milder and the effects are not as fast as the stronger Glutathione Soap. To be sure, if after 2-3 weeks, you don't feel any stinging, drying, or peeling, that's the time you can switch to a stronger whitening soap.
Your dark knees may take months to lighten. Do apply the cream 2x a day. Do not give up.
I have one patient user who continuously used the whitening lotion for her insect bite marks on her legs, and it literally took her 6 months to get her results. And now she's a happy customer.
I hope we get a smile from you soon too. :)
