Dark Insect Bite Scars

by Anonymous
(HK)

Hi Maria, I have sensitive skin and bugs love me. I got bitten many times by mozzies and nosseums and they leave ugly, dark scars. I've tried applying skin bleach prescribed by my doctor but nothing has changed. Can you help me? I have stopped wearing skirts and feeling depressed. Thank you.

Answer:

Hi there, I'm not sure what went wrong with your doctor-prescribed skin bleaching product. I have a similar question about dark ugly scars on legs with the recommended solution. You can find it here -

Light skin User
by: Anonymous

Hi, I have dark scars from insect bites on my legs and after reading the information on this site am thinking of purchasing the papaya soap, but my concern is that a lot of users seem to have dark skin, and it works for them, but I have very fair skin, and am worried about the 'lightening' title the products have. You still recommend the soap to achieve less-noticeable looking scars?
Thank You

Answer:

Hello, yes the papaya soap is a good bet for dark skin spots, regardless of skin tone. If you have very fair skin, the surrounding skin won't be significantly affected, but the dark scars can fade away.

Scars faded
by: Anonymous

Dear Maria and all,

I was quite skeptical about the product when I first started using it and it's been 6 months now. The orange Papaya Kojic Soap bar is nearly finished and I am very pleased to say that the soap and the whitening cream worked! My dark insect bites are essentially invisible!

Don't give up and stay diligent.

Update
by: Anonymous

Dear Maria,

I'm still using the orange soap and whitening cream daily as adviced and so far there is still no peeling on my legs(the insect bite scars). However, my hubby said that the scars are getting a little lighter(I see them everyday i can't even tell!). Is it possible for the scars to lighten without any peeling or was it just his imagiination? I do not know why I am not peeling like many of your clients. Is it because of my brown cskin? My spirit is a little dampened but I'm not going to give up yet!

Thanks again for your time Maria!

Comment:

Hey, Nie, thanks for the update! You're right, not everybody's skin will peel. Eventually, some do after some time, or occasionally. If you're using moisturizers, try skipping them until the skin peels. A little dryness can induce peeling. After skin peels, resume your moisturizers. Also try leaving the soap on skin for a little longer before rinsing off.

Why give up? Now that you're seeing (or hearing? lol) an improvement! I'll be here if you need me. :-)

Advice Needed
by: Nie

Hi Maria,

My order came and I have started using them. I am using the Kojic(orange color) soap every morning and night followed by the Licorice soap. I have started applying Whitening Cream at night on my damp skin after shower with my fav. moisturizer 15 minutes later.

Its been a week already but I have not experienced any peeling yet. Am I doing anything wrong? I have brown skin and my insect bite scars are between 1 month to 2 years old.

Please advise Maria and thank you in advance.

Nie

Answer:

Hi Nie, I have two suggestions:

1. Do not use the black soap yet, only the papaya soap. The papaya soap has a stronger exfoliating effect, and so will make skin peel faster. AFTER the skin peels, that's the best time to use the black soap.

2. Skip the use of your favorite moisturizer until you see some signs of skin peeling. You can resume its application AFTER skin has peeled.

One week is still too early though. Your skin is adjusting to the active ingredients. Depending on your unique skin sensitivity, you may see a fast or slow improvement.

Either way, the important thing is getting the desired results in the end. :-)

I've placed an order!
by: Nie

Hi Maria,

I have just placed an order and now looking forward to receiving them! I bought Set no. 2 and the 500gm Whitening Cream. I chose the express shipping and hope they'll arrive soon(it says 3-5 days for non US shipping).

Maria, do I apply the whitening cream right after the lotion? On the website, it says we should apply both at night time.

Thanks again.
Nie

Answer:

Hi Nie, thank you for your order! To answer your question, you should apply your moisturizer at least 10-15 minutes AFTER the whitening cream. This will allow the whitening cream to be absorbed fully by the skin first.

The same is true when you apply sunscreen at daytime after the whitening cream.

You're welcome. :-)

Dark Insect Bite Scars
by: Nie

Thank you for your response Maria!

So should I order the Complete Overall Skin Whitening Product Set - 1 or the Set 2? I just came back from a short holiday and got bitten by mozzies..Now I have 3 more scars on my arm!!I hope these product can help me.

Regards,
Ni(HK)

Reply:

Hi Nie, either one can be a good choice. The only difference is the content of the whitening cream from 10-grams to 25-grams.

If you think you'll be using the cream for more areas in the body other than the face, the 25-gram cream set can be cheaper.

Don't forget to include your favorite moisturizer and a high spf sunscreen (at least SPF45) in your skin lightening regimen. :-)
