Dark arms because of years of running

(los angeles, CA)

ok, so i went on a crazy stint of running (the running was NOT the crazy part) 10K a day. here is my crazy and stupid part, i ran during the day in a tank top. how stupid! no sunblock, no protection. just me and a camelbak of gatorade. again... how stupid of me!

now my face, neck and arms are about 5 shades darker than the rest of my body :( HELP!!! i just want to even out everything. is there anything that can help my dark arms?

oh, sorry, my dad is phillipino and my mom is dutch-indonesian-- i saw that people here put what ethnicity they are to give you a better idea of what "kind" of skin the question is being asked about.

i'm quite fair (yeah, "fair" in all the areas that have NOT seen the sun during my days of running). i've tried the **edited** but i heard that Diana Stalder Skin Whitening Products are FAR MORE SUPERIOR than what i've been using.

i have achieved a bit of lightening but now turn to someone who is a total GURU about skin-whitening. if you would please advise, i would greatly appreciate it. thank you very much in advance and more power to your site and business!!! kindest regards ~a.b.

Answer:

Hi AB, you call me a guru? Ok I can enjoy that for the moment. ;-)

Seriously, thank you for your kind compliment.

Well at least you know where you made a mistake, and I know, you enjoyed running even with a price to pay.

You can start using skin lightening products to even out your skin tone as long as you don't do running anymore. I mean, between 9am-5pm. :-)

Ok let me recommend that you try Diana Stalder Papaya Soap Lightening Kit (under "Skin Whitening Kits") that includes papaya soap, lightening lotion and cream.

Use the papaya soap from face to arms, the lightening lotion for neck and arms, then the lightening cream for face.

Sunscreen is also part of your regimen, even if you don't run anymore. It is well explained in the instruction sheet that will come with the products. :)

Take care,
Maria

oh no! don't exfoliate? too late...
by: AB

hi Maria! i emailed my aunt in living in the philippines and asked her about the Stalder Line of products and she said that her neighbor uses it and that she's a white as a ghost! LOL i told her that i was going to buy a bar of Papaya Soap by Stalder and she said she'd send me one as a little birthday gift on top of a couple Folded and Hung jeans... tee hee hee!

well, i got the bar last week and it was really great! the first time i used it, i guess i can match my aunt's neighbor looking pretty much like Casper the Friendly Ghost! it's fabulous!!! only thing was, i used a loofa/exfoliating cloth and now... oh help me, my upper arm is now darker than before! i guess i kind of "burned" myself or something. now i am SAD :(

have i done some crazy permanent damage on my upper arm now?! what have i done wrong? well, ok, obviously the loofa is the "wrong" part, but now what?! am i now Casper with brown arms forever? :( what do i do? oh yeah, and why the darker arms because of the exfoliating cloth? help me! :(

Answer:

Hi AB, you're right - it's the loofah.

On our instruction sheet, it is advised NOT to use any other exfoliating loofah, scrub or bath cloth, because using skin whitening soaps can peel skin, and if you use loofahs, you will literally scrape fresh exfoliating skin. Now that's bad. And that's what happened to you.

Rest your skin from the Papaya soap for 2 weeks, or until it dries and the redness is gone. Thereafter, resume use of the soap and this time, you know what to do. :)

re: Dark arms because of years of running

hello again Maria! thank you for the speedy reply-- and yes, you are a Skin Whitening Guru!

i just compared my stomach to your Skin Tone Chart and my skin on my stomach and legs are less than Shade 1 on your chart and my face, neck, arms and hands are about a 6-- again, i hit myself over the head and tell myself how stupid it was of me to go running without any protection.

i have reverted to using a treadmill to avoid the sun, as i am now afraid of skin cancer, just having looked at my skin.

i have done quite a bit of reading on your site and tripped upon the whole Glutathione scene. if i use Reduced/L-Glutathione in conjuction with the Papaya Kit that you mention, will my results be quicker and more desirable?

or is the lightening achievable via the Diana Stadler Papaya Kit that you recommended earlier?

again, thank you very much in advance for answering my question.

p.s. you'll have to excuse my ignorance of how to continue on my page as i didn't know if my question here is considered a "comment" or a new question. again, my apologies.

Answer:

Hi AB, no worries, I have re-posted your question/comment on (this) your exclusive page for consistency.

Now let me again thank you for your trust. Warms the heart. :)

Let me explain to you a bit further how the skin whitening L-glutathione pills and the topicals work -

The topical products - skin whitening soap, lotion, cream - work differently (externally) from the skin whitening pills (internally).

The topical skin whiteners work faster (1-4 weeks depending on your skin sensitivity) because they are directly applied on skin, exfoliate and/or peel skin faster to remove the dark skin spots, but the results are cosmetic.

The pills slowly work from the inside out like vitamins or dietary supplements, and take time (months and months depending on your metabolism) to build its foundation, but the antioxidant effects benefit overall skin and body health, with a side effect that is skin lightening.

So you see, they work differently from each other. You can do either, or both.

Sadly, we have to discontinue the pills because they've become a slow moving merchandise for the past year.

You can go to Diana Stalder Skin Whitening Products
and read the "Quick Product Guide" in the blue table box to choose the right product for you based on your skin type.

Hope that gives you a better idea.

Love that treadmill. It'll keep you indeed cancer-free.

Maria
