Dark Acne Spot on Chest

I had a zit on my chest about three weeks ago. I have not gotten a zit on my chest in over six years and all of a sudden one appeared. I did pop it when i first saw it. Now it is gone, but I have a darkish red spot on my skin. Will it go away? Is there any way to diminish the color?
