Combination dark spots- uneven skin/pigmentation. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!
by Anthony
(WA, USA)
I am 100 % Disable Vietnam Veteran. I was shot multiple times, and was also seriously injured in an explosion, that left the lower part- abdomen- legs/feet/etc, badly burned. I have spent thousand, and thousands of dollars trying unsuccessfully to restore my skin- all to no avail. I have patches of dark skin/spots, and the upper part of my body- is seemingly lighter than the lower part- that was injured.
I have purchased expensive skin whitening creams, and all sorts of products from a company called- "**edited**", and I strongly feel that I am wasting my time and my money, because absolutely nothing has changed. I suffer from trauma and panic attacks, and most of my depression is because I am ashamed for anyone to see my naked body.
Because of my skin discoloration, I am unable to have any sexual relations with any woman. You wrote about Benoquin-and I urgently need help.
However, after several years of creams, I am convinced that there has to be tablets or medication, that will help. I am seemingly desperate, but I am not willing to continue to spend thousand and thousand of dollars monthly, on expensive creams that do not work. Please, please, help me!
Answer:
Hi Anthony, I cannot fathom how you feel, especially that you had obviously served this country, almost giving up your life.
Before I proceed, Benoquin is not what you're looking for. It is only prescribed for vitiligo patients. Trust me, you wouldn't want to add more damage to what you're already experiencing.
Skin whitening products only treat the epidermal layer of skin. Old tough scars go deeper into the dermis and hypodermis layers of skin. While skin whiteners improve the scar's texture and mildly lighten the discoloration, it is not the total solution to your dilemma. I'm not sure if you went to a dermatologist already, but this professional may be able to suggest a solution for your situation. Dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, chemical peels or silicone treatments may be some of the options that can work for you.
However, there is no guarantee that any of the above will get rid of the scars. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, complications can happen even with a highly qualified medical professional.
If you have other dark skin spots that are cosmetic, you may try our skin whitening soap and cream - Dermaline Papaya Kojic Soap and Skin Whitening Cream, which you'll never know, might work this time. You can also try on dark scars, but remember, treating scars is a very long process. Your patience and consistency will be key to achieving your goal.
Anthony, if you will allow me to be honest with you, your scars should not hinder you from falling in love with a woman, where someone can look at your scars as a reminder of your gallantry and love for your country. Because they are indeed such. Something to be proud of.
And scars are the natural part of the healing process. Though not pretty, these have kept you alive to serve you a new purpose in life. :)
Take care, Maria
