bikini line scarring

ok so i have been shaving my pubic are since i was 15, and my mother never really told me the proper way to do it so i would constantly get ingrown hairs which resulted in scarring. what do recommend to get rid of some of the scarring because quite frankly i find it disgusting to even have scar and not be able to wear bikinis or anything remotely close to one.
