Are skin whitening pills safe?

Hi MAria, I am Keerthi from India. My problem is with my colour and how I could get rid of this. I once consulted a dermatologist and he gave me pills (Vitamin EC350). I used it for about 1month and my colour was improving but there was side effect. My periods stopped. Could you please give me a solution with no such side effects. Plz Maria help me. I'm a great fan of u. Bye .

Hi Keerthi, Vitamin EC 350 is a Vitamin E supplement but is classified as a drug according to a Supreme Court of India ruling -

"Sections 3(b)(i)(iii) and 18 - definition of 'drug' -

Whether EC 350 (Vitamin E and Vitamin C Capsules) and Cecure (Multi - Vitamin Capsules) manufactured by the petitioner and sold in the market through medical shops as "Dietary Supplements" falls within the definition of "drug" requiring licence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940"
