Annoyed, Frustrated, Fed Up And Imbarrassed Regarding My Facial Skin Problem Of Hair Growth On My Chin, Ingrown Hairs And Dark Spots!!
by Cami
(USA)
I am a 49 year old very fair skinned black female. Genetically speaking, the women in my family (grandmother, mother and 3 out of 4 sister's) have slight facial hair growing on our chin's. Unfortunately, I have the worse case of it than any of the females in my family. The hair growth on my chin and on each side of my chin is excessive. We all have to shave or pluck our hair from our chin daily. In my case, the shaving and plucking with a tweezer produced ingrown hairs, made my face irritated, red, and bumpy. All of this caused dark spots and scabs on my chin and on the sides of my chin. My skin is sensitive in this area. In Dec. 2008 I had lazor treatments every 4 weeks in New York to eliminate the hair growth. I was told I needed 6 treatments to totally eliminate the growth of the hair. I began to notice by the 2nd to 3rd month of lazor treatments, I no longer had to shave or pluck any hairs on my chin. My face was healing and the dark spots were becoming less noticeable. I was very impressed of how well and efficient the lazor treatment's were working to eliminate the hair growth!! Well, after my 3rd treatment I unexpectedly moved to California from New York and was not able to continue lazor treatments in New York. The hair grew back on my chin and the dark spots seemed to have become more prominent. Well, to get back to the root of the problem again, I will be starting my lazor treatments in California next week. My question is: To fade the dark spots would I need to use your "bleaching" or "whitening" regiment and which of your soaps would be most efficient to give me maximum results since my skin is sensitive. Also, should I use your bleaching or whitening regiment during the course of lazor treatments or after the treatments are completed. I am very conscience and imbarrassed that my chin looks so bad and constantly feel that when people talk to me face to face that they specifically take notice and draw their attention to my chin instead of looking at me eye to eye when talking to me. Please give me some insight as to which products I need to use to eliminate this problem during or after my lazor treatments. Thank-you for your prompt advice and concern in this matter. I shall look foward to hearing from you soon.

Answer:
Hi Cami, the laser treatment certainly helps you, but it can't work together with a skin lightening regimen because both laser and skin lightening induces exfoliation. After you're done with the laser treatment, rest your skin for 2 weeks before starting to treat any dark spots left.
You can try the Diana Stalder Black Soap and Lightening Cream for that purpose. Use the black soap (a mild skin lightening soap for sensitive skin) and lightening cream daily.
California is a sunny state and sun exposure can darken your pigmentation more. So make sure you wear at least SPF45 sunscreen during your laser treatment and skin lightening regimen whenever you go outdoors, especially between 9am-4pm.
Hope that helps. :)
