Acne problems

Dear Maria, am 25yrs old and am having acne problems. I have consulted a dermatologist and most of the acne have gone but it had remained red and dark spots as well. Sometimes I do get some of those pimples and its really irritating. I do have pimples at my back as well.
I have seen on the net that they do laser surgery to remove scars but am really afraid of doing so. Can you please suggest me a better treament so that I can have a clear skin like others and I also have some scars due to chicken pox. As I leave in Mauritius, I would like to ask you if you will be recommending me to buy skin lightening creams, I would like you to give me the products which is available here. Because on the net they show you product and when I ask in pharmacies here they said that somes of the skin whitening products available on the net we don't get it in mauritius. Please Maria do help me.
Thanks for your coorperation.

Answer:
Hi Yesha, laser surgery does not guarantee a scar-free result, and is expensive. You might as well try affordable cosmetic skin whitening soaps, lotions and/or creams for your goal.
A good side effect of skin whitening products, if it works well with your skin type, is the control of acne. Due to the mild exfoliation/peeling within the process, excess dirt and oils are extracted thus preventing further blemishes.
One particular product that works best for that purpose is the Papaya Kojic Soap. You can look around your area to try this kind of lightening soap, that will also lighten the discoloration left by acne.
Adding a lightening lotion or cream is optional. After 2 weeks of using the soap and very little improvement is seen, you can complete your regimen with the body whitening lotion or cream.
Good luck! :)
