Hi Maria. I want to ask a question about the big size(500 gr) cream. How long does it maintain its freshness? I bought another whitening cream. It was 100 gr. At first it was white but then it became brown. And last year I used your 25gr cream. I finished it in 4-5 months. The cream became darker at the end too. Why is it? Now I want to buy the biggest size and what can I do so that it doesn't became dark? Does it loose its freshness when it becomes dark?

Hi Peri, the whitening cream color tends to become yellowish to brownish in time because of exposure to air. This is oxidation due to the oxygen reacting to some of the ingredients of the cream. However, the whitening potency is only affected minimally. Unless the discoloration becomes dark brown, it is good to go.

I have used 2 jars of the big 500gm skin whitening cream in the past and didn't notice much discoloration, despite of each having lasted for almost a year for me. The manufacturer might have protected the cream's efficacy by adding a little stabilizer.

In order to prevent fast discoloration, make sure to get only the portion that you will need for a time, then close the jar tightly thereafter. Leaving it open for a long time (usually left open while one is applying it on skin) will cause the discoloration quicker.
